Over 1,200 events took place to mark the Initial European SME Week on 6-14 May under the motto ‘Small business, big concepts’ - promoting initiative and small businesses, the lifeblood of Europe’s economy. The message across Europe was clear: small businesses are the engine of the European economy and Europe is now more than ever prepared and willing to support them.

This European Small business Week event is a campaign to promote entrepreneurship across Europe and to tell entrepreneurs concerning support available for them at European, national and local level. It allows SMEs to discover an array of information, advice, support and ideas to help them develop their activities.

From the opening in Brussels to the closing gala in Prague, an array of events was on offer for entrepreneurs in 35 countries: money support and advice, latest business trends, tips about inexperienced business, success stories of entrepreneurs, workshops and more.
